Cornerstone Charter School is seeking passionate, mission-driven educators who want to help build a literacy-first public charter school. Our school is grounded in the Science of Reading, structured literacy, and a content-rich, knowledge-building curriculum designed to help all students become strong readers, thinkers, and leaders.
We are currently accepting applications for the following positions:
Classroom Teacher (Full-Time)
2026–2027 School Year
Founding teachers will play an essential role in helping establish Cornerstone Charter School and shape a positive, collaborative culture focused on student success.
Responsibilities

Plan and implement lessons aligned with New Hampshire state standards

Deliver engaging and effective instruction
-
Administer assessments and use data to inform instruction

Create and maintain a positive learning environment

Support student learning using a diagnostic and prescriptive approach
-
Communicate regularly with families
-
Collaborate with colleagues and support staff
-
Stay current with research-based instructional practices
-
Promote and respect diversity and foster an equitable learning environment
Cornerstone teachers are expected to actively participate in professional learning, instructional coaching, and school development as members of a collaborative founding team. All teachers will receive Orton-Gillingham training and ongoing coaching as part of Cornerstone's commitment to professional growth and instructional excellence.
Qualifications

Commitment to the school's mission, vision, and goals

Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field required

Experience teaching elementary students required
-
New Hampshire teaching certification preferred
-
Training and experience with structured literacy preferred
-
New Hampshire Special Education certification is a plus
-
Experience with EL Education is a plus
-
Commitment to evidence-based instructional practices and structured literacy
-
Strong understanding of child development and literacy development
-
Experience with MTSS, assessment, data collection, and data-based decision-making
-
Strong classroom management and time management skills
-
Strong collaboration and communication skills
-
Ability to thrive in a collaborative startup school environment

Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred

Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
Professional Learning Expectations
All classroom teachers will:

Participate in six days of Orton-Gillingham training beginning in June prior to the school year
-
Complete a supervised practicum during the school year
-
Apply for certification through the Orton-Gillingham Academy
Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary approximately $45,000–$55,000, based on education and experience

Comprehensive Orton-Gillingham training and coaching through the Orton-Gillingham Institute at the Stern Center for Language and Learning

Support for pursuing Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA) certification

Special Education Teacher (Full-Time)
2026–2027 School Year
The Special Education Teacher will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to ensure students receive individualized instruction and services that help them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities

Qualifications

The Paraprofessional will work closely with classroom teachers to support instruction, foster a positive learning environment, and help ensure the success of all students.
Responsibilities

2026–2027 School Year
Substitute teachers play an important role in maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring continuity of instruction when classroom teachers are absent.
Responsibilities

Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher

Maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment

Support student engagement and participation in learning activities

Follow established classroom routines, procedures, and behavioral expectations

Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties as needed
